Being The Change...

I'm sat in the lounge area of my flat watching Comic Relief.
In case you don't know what Comic Relief is, it's a UK-based charity that helps people in the UK and around the world.

No matter how much I hear about the poverty and deprivation on this planet, it still shocks me to the core that much of the suffering that people experience could actually be prevented.

It also disturbs me that the world spends more on weapons than on the developing world.
That's more money on guns, bombs and destruction than on saving people's lives.

People die every day. That's a fact that is natural to us as a whole. But when children and adults are dying needlessly due to having no food, no clean water, no basic necessities in order to LIVE...dying from preventable diseases - that's what gets me angry.

You might be thinking, "what difference can I make?" or "it won't go to them, it'll probably end up somewhere else" - take that chance that it WILL make a difference, that it WILL go to help those in need.

I also need your help.
Not because I am in need myself, far from it in fact.

I need some ideas on fundraising - I plan to start after the Easter holidays (I have essays to finish!), and every single penny of what I raise will go to Comic Relief.
Either comment on the Facebook group (Pink, Purple and Dinky - The Official Group), below the post itself or tweet me on twitter (@Katylizzie1804) with your creative and innovative ideas.

If you are in the UK and you want to donate to Comic Relief right this minute, you can call 03457 910 910, text YES to 70010 or go to www.bbc.co.uk/rednoseday. Every penny counts.

Be the change you want to see...
