On my third day in York, I found a lovely soap shop called The Yorkshire Soap Co. whilst trying to navigate through York.
(Yes. The shop is pink! :D)
I decided to have a look inside and found that they sell soap - but not just any soap. BEAUTIFUL soap. And when I say beautiful, I mean it!
You see, the thing is, they look like cakes! Check it out!
Now, the thing you should know about these ones, is that I got these for free. :3
Why?
Well, on the very same day that I wandered into the shop, a photographer was also in the shop taking photographs for a newspaper. He suddenly approached me and asked me if I wanted to pose with some soap to promote the store in the newspaper. Naturally, I said yes!
The soaps you see above were from the shop to say thank you for doing the shoot, which was lovely of them!
I was told that the photos would be in a newspaper soon, but we weren't sure whether it would be national or local.
Last Wednesday, it turns out it was the local one! Here's the pic...
(I nearly ate the soap cake :3)
Here's a link to the newspaper's website: http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/
(Type in Yorkshire Soap if you want to find the article)
And here's the link to The Yorkshire Soap Co.'s website: http://theyorkshiresoapcompany.co.uk/en/
Don't forget, you can find them both on facebook and twitter too :)
So here's a thank you to both The Yorkshire Soap Co. and The Press for letting me be part of something fantastic!
And if you haven't been yet, go and visit them!! The one I went to is in York (10 Blake Street) and it turns out that they have a shop in Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, too (6 Market Street). Even if you have been, go again! They're bringing in new things all the time!
Now go and visit the wonderful bubbly goodness, people! :D

Thank you Catherine for the lovely blog post and helping us at our photo shoot! See you soon X The YSC team....
ReplyDeleteMore than happy to write wonderful things about you all! Should be coming in to visit on Saturday, so see you soon! Cathy x
