Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not generally an angry person. You see, I'm currently taking driving lessons so I can gain some kind of independence in travel and not have to rely on a bus that's constantly late.
The lessons themselves don't make me cross, it's the people who take advantange of the fact I'm a learner driver.
An incredibly nervous and twitchy learner driver.
I'm getting more confident as I go, mind, it's just some drivers are sheer idiots on the road. And the more I look at said drivers, the more it becomes clear that it's not just the younger generation that turn too early into roads and nearly run into me, or deliberately overtake me because they think I'm going to be slow.
I suppose the only consolation about this situation is that if they do crash into me, I'll be the one showing them up - then again, that's only if I was driving properly in the first place!
Luckily for you lot, I don't have a driving lesson again till the 23rd of April. So it's safe to drive/walk without the danger of a certain "L" Plate-encrusted car colliding with your bumper/face :)
Yeah, you get drivers like that. My advice is always go a little slower than the speed limit as a learner (27 instead of 30), keep an eye outfor people trying to overtake and just let them. If they're in front of you then they probably won't cause any problems. Then one day the L-plates will be gone and you'll be able to out drag a chav on a motorbike, like me :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am determined to get the first comment on all your blog posts.
Yes, Stephen, I'm aware of your comment targets! :D what you've described is how I normally drive when I'm not nervous - apart from the drag racing I mean :P
