I think it's safe to say that today's church service went incredibly well! We had no vicar, since he and his wife are on a well-deserved holiday - enter Dave, who took the service and themed it around sport and kids (a very good combination)! Sport phrases, dressing up (in sports gear, of course) and slow-motion running to "Chariots of Fire" all made the service a fantastic one!
What's more, despite me having a cold, the music went well too! We were all so pleased with how it turned out, even though the last song had the words missing from the projector - the congregation knew the chorus though, and I decided to do some jumping on the last one to get everyone lively! Luckily there were a couple of kids that decided to jump as well, though that might have been down to their own personal alternatives to standing still :) Gave us all a good workout though, it just proves that if your church has lively songs with actions, you don't necessarily need a gym!
I'm helping with another service tonight as well, the 7:30pm service called Refresh, though I'm not singing tonight, I'm doing the projector instead (don't worry, I have all the words this time!). My mum's leading the service as well, so this should be a good one! :D
Another good thing about tonight is that I don't have to get up early tomorrow morning - work doesn't start until 3pm for me, plus I have no driving lesson! So I can use my sleep to *cough* have a lie-in *cough* - I mean, I need it to recover from my cold!
Plus, I'll need to be saving all the energy I can for the after school clubs I work at, one of which involves escorting exciteable kids across a busy road at the bottom of a hill while the other I have to walk back up the hill for afterwards. Something tells me I'm gonna need to do some stretches...
